My Journey

Nepal - 09 Sep 2009 (09-09-09)

Finally after 3 years, I get to go for another trip of my wishlist, Nepal (09 Sep 09 - 21 Sep 09). It was together with a group of friends or should say mostly those who are interested to visit / revisit to Nepal.

To be able to go there, we had our stamina training since Jan 2009 onwards including jogging, long walks and also climbing up 30 storeys HDB flats to aid in conquering height as the trip required us to travel even higher as 12,000 fts.

Mount Everest
Nepal - Stupa

Although this trip was much tougher than Pakistan and not as luxurious stay (I mean lodging) but I felt so much happier to see the amazing sceneries of the nature. Given the choice, I will sure wish to continue another trip of trekking, even going higher than that to catch the art of nature is worth the effort and stamina.

Our journey starts from Kathmandu and fly in to Lukla before we travel by foot all the way... Lukla -> Phakding -> Namche -> Tengboche -> Pangboche and we trek back the same way. It was a 13 days' trip and about 9 days we were on our foot. I got a little AMS when we reached Namche, possibly due to rushing trip as we saw the mist coming... and too tired.

We visited the World's Highest Monastery at Tengboche and had tea break at World's Highest Hotel, Everest View Hotel (but not rich enough to stay there). Something memorable happened for me at Nepal... Some pics here to share HERE and more at FLICKR (as I am running out of hosting space).

Pakistan - 12 Apr 2006

I had my first travelling vacation between 12 Apr 2006 - 23 Apr 2006. For alot of people, they have travelled to many countries up till now. Never would anyone be able to guess where I would go on my first trip... PAKISTAN. Yes! You have read it correctly, Pakistan. Many have asked me why I choose this place, out of so many places, like Hong Kong, Australia, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, etc.

I do not have much reason, as I just tagged along with my friend upon my request to inform me where she would be going for the trip. She is one exotic traveller as well and she simply sent me the brochures that she have received. The brochure we read through was introducing cherry blossoms in spring season. Hmm.... interesting, in Pakistan, not Japan... and some amazing description of the trip

I have to say, I was really lucky for this trip. Met alot of nice people and became the fun gang, and see alot of nice sceneries. When I do not know what to expect from my trip, I have no expectations, the whole trip was full of surprises, and satisfaction. Maybe because this was my first trip, it is really special to me. I love nature, and I got to see alot of artwork of nature. Can you imagine, it snowed in Pakistan, while we were just having our lunch, after a tiring trekking of about 2 hours?!

Anyway, going on a trip, depends on what each individual is looking for. I am looking for nature, somewhere not commercial, not urban at all. Mountains and skies, flowers and trees, are all I need. To know how much fun I have throughout the journey, and the kind of surprises that I have gotten out from the trip. Do visit my gallery.
