Gathering @Vivocity - 22 Jul 2010

August 19th, 2010

It’s another gathering time… feasting for all the ladies who are working so hard in office and also at home. Time to pamper ourselves with sumptuous meal at Tung Lok dinner. The ambience was nice too and no crowd on weekdays..

Once again, the chatty… time with Lee Fing, Li Gek, Sharon, Ai Chin and me. Topics about work, home and personal. However, we will never forget to enjoy our food but what we missed out was taking photos of our dishes. By the time we realised, Sharon supposed to remind me… she did when we were having our dessert, what we now have is the dessert photo.

Dessert Ice cream in coconut husk.. It was chilling and nice with 2 scoops of ice cream and some mango strips.  Well, still managed to get some coconut flesh out of it.. A little like the pomelo + mango dessert

Gathering @313 - 14 Apr 2010

June 1st, 2010

It’s again another gathering time but we don’t seems to be able to get everyone in nowadays. This time, we have Lee Fing, Ai Chin, Sharon and me, planned the lunch gathering at 313@somerset. It was a time for us, whom yet to visit 313@somerset to see what shops are there… and again gossip session.

We had simple set lunch at one of the Japanese restaurant offering cheaper option for us. The portion wasn’t that large but enough for us to fill the stomach at the moment. Each of us order a different lunch set, and cost about $12 per person if I don’t remember wrongly. Anyway, still reasonable lunch for shopping mall restaurant @Orchard.

After lunch, we had our walk and talks around 313@somerset. Imagine… I became the shopaholic these days, a dress caught my eyes and in the end, I became the model with the shop assistant kept bringing dress for me to try. In the end, I bought 2 dress at FOND shop. Overall, I do like the 2 dresses I bought, one is formal for work while the other one is more suitable for night function but still elegant enough to wear to office, with a cardigan.

Coffee Break Snacks We moved on to Orchard Central after the shopping… for coffee break. See the snacks we had that day, with the drinks at Spinelli. It was rather a quiet afternoon there during weekdays and we had enough moments together to share and chat and laugh… gossips.. gossips.. information exchange… Time flies for the relaxing afternoon… At the end of the day, Sharon lead us to the rooftop garden. We got to see the high view and nice view…

When will be our next gathering? And when can we get the whole gang together again??! Awaiting next upcoming gathering…

Karaoke, Anyone?

April 7th, 2010

Starring: Sharon, Poh Leng and Li Gek

Part 1 - Jan 2010

Been really long that we gals sang Karaoke.. (ok.. me and sharon lah). So one of the evening in January, while shopping go to Iluma, we spotted a karoke venue. Waited for Li Gek to join us after her inline skating activities. That’s the time both Sharon and me bought dresses at amazing $15 per pc and wore it during CNY and now, to work.

When Li Gek arrived, we ended up spending time at one of the Japanese restaurant savouring the food and eventually thought will be too late to sing. So ended up from at Bugis Junction for a drink + chat..

Part 2 - Feb 2010

Guess what! We never say die… and during CNY period, the 3 ladies strike again! Sharon and me just didn’t want to go home, so we thought called Li Gek along. Hee.. she’s ONZ immediately as long as not working late.

However, Sharon was caught in boss room for quite long. Our dinner ended at Tanjong Pagar Exchange, Soup Spoon. Nevertheless, we thought to fulfil the Karaoke thingy this time. After dinner, off we go to Clementi Central…

The Party World near MRT station was fully booked till 10plus.  We changed the venue to try our luck at Kbox near the polyclinic. When we reached was already 9pm plus.. we ended up at the K-Box and got quite a good deal since was after 9pm and allowed to sing till 4am.  Hmm.. we stayed till about 1am plus (can you imagine… me and Sharon, the mum of 3 kids)… stayed so late? Li Gek was one of our “sporty” person who usually will go singing with her friends.

Girls, juz need to have fun… As we aged, our minds need to stay younger… That’s the spirit to have for all of ladies.

Mushroom Pot Gathering - 11 Nov 2009

April 7th, 2010

As usual, this is a late “status reporting” of our gathering, the usual khakis (Lee Fing, Ai Chin, Sharon, Li Gek and me, Poh Leng of course).

This time, again Sharon’s recommendation, we had our sumptuous lunch at Mushroom Pot at Orchard. On normal weekdays, no booking required because others were busy working while we gals, sneak out to have our kaypoh session. Time to relax, relieve our stress from work and family. Working ladies should always remember to have gals’ outing.

Overall comments, Mushroom Pot is rather nice place to have a meal, wanted to bring mum over someday (If I remember again). It is steamboat, except the side dishes limit to one person per dish but can say is really nice. We have choices of the soups as well.I personally remembered the fried mushroom (side dish).  Whenever we have such gatherings, we tend to get all the different varieties of food.

For such gathering, we have the standard task force:

  • Sharon & Li Gek - Food Reviewer & Venue Planner
  • Poh Leng - Organiser / Motivator
  • Lee Fing & Ai Chin - Always supporting participants
  • Carolyn - well.. busy and limited leave these days. But she will join if she’s available… Hope she be in again soon..

Haha.. Looking back, this gathering all started when… Poh Leng left TL and Sharon felt bored. So both of us started the gals gathering and the news spread… spread… from 3 - 5 or 6. Without the supporters and participants, this will never be possible.

Thank You ALL!

Search Engine??

January 16th, 2010

Someone asked me about how to be SEARCHABLE in the search engine. OK.. These are my answers:

Razz In meta key words, you tried to key different combination, short and sweet, this increase the easier search bcos when we do google search, we enter by words such as “Web,HTML,CSS,Javascript,PHP,MySQL”. This think I read it thru one of the books…

Sad Think, some may be paid services, which when paid, you will have higher priority to display your search result

Wink Just read this from google, https://www.google.com/adsense/ws-overview, if you have sufficient traffic, you can apply to be inside their fast list.

Laughing And finally, SEARCH around and found this article, which somehow summarized my words:
